Why I Started Motor Mogul — My Honest Story
I am Pulkit Trigunayat. I am 23 years old and I live in Kota, Rajasthan. And I want to tell you something that no automotive website in India will ever tell you — because no other automotive website was built the way Motor Mogul was built.
Motor Mogul was not born in a boardroom. It was not funded by investors. It was not started by a team of journalists with decades of experience. It was started by one person — me — sitting in Kota in April 2026 with a laptop, a passion for cars that goes back further than I can remember, and a dream of buying my first car with money I earned myself.
This is that story.
It Started With a Honda Accord in 2009
My love for Honda — and honestly my love for cars in general — did not start recently. It started in 2009 when I was just a child and my family brought home a Honda Accord. I still remember the day it arrived. The way it looked. The way it smelled inside. The way it felt completely different from every other car I had ever been in.
We drove that Honda Accord for approximately 5 lakh kilometres. Five lakh. That is not a typo. That car went through everything our family went through — road trips, weddings, hospital visits, celebrations, and the ordinary everyday moments that make up a life. It never let us down. Not once in a meaningful way. That Accord taught me something I have never forgotten — a great car is not just a machine. It is a companion.
When that Accord finally retired from our family’s fleet — it left a Honda-shaped hole that only a Honda could fill.
Then Came the City — The Car That Changed Everything
In 2018 our family got a Honda City. And this car — this particular car — has been more than just a vehicle in my life. I have been driving it for approximately 4 years now. It currently has 2,30,000 kilometres on the odometer and it still drives like it has something to prove.
I have been in this car at my happiest moments. I have been in this car at my lowest moments. This car has seen every version of me — the excited version, the heartbroken version, the determined version, the lost version, and the version that finally figured out what he wanted from life.
And perhaps most importantly — I fell in love in this car. My girlfriend and I — our relationship, our story, our everything — has the Honda City 2018 woven through it in a way that is impossible to separate. Some people have a song that is theirs. We have a car.
The Dream — My First Car, Bought With My Own Money
I am 23 years old. I have never bought a car with money I earned myself. That is the dream — not just any car but a specific car. The Honda City 6th generation — the 2026 facelift.
When I first started thinking about buying my own first car I was seriously considering the Volkswagen Virtus GT. It is an excellent car — I have written about it extensively on this very website. The performance, the German engineering, the price. It made sense on paper.
But then Honda launched the 6th generation City facelift in 2026. And the moment I saw it — I knew. I have a saying that I genuinely believe with every part of me.
Only a City can replace a City.
I am planning to book the Honda City 2026 ZX CVT in August 2026. The delivery is planned for November 23, 2026 — my girlfriend’s birthday. The number plate will reflect that date. This is not just a car purchase. It is a promise.
Why Motor Mogul Exists
I started Motor Mogul in late April 2026. When I started it — I will be completely honest — my initial goal was straightforward. I wanted to build a website that earns passive income through Google AdSense. I wanted a source of income that worked while I slept. A digital asset that grew over time.
That goal has not changed. But something else has changed alongside it.
Somewhere between writing the first article and the hundredth article — somewhere between researching the Hyundai Creta and the Mercedes S-Class, between explaining flex fuel technology and comparing the Tata Nexon EV with the Hyundai Creta Electric — I realised something important.
Cars are not just my topic. Cars are my passion. Cars are my thing.
I grew up in a family that loves cars. At any given time my family owns multiple vehicles — a Kia Seltos, a Honda City 2018, a Toyota Fortuner, a Hyundai Creta, a Mahindra XUV700, and a Toyota Innova Crysta. I have grown up surrounded by conversations about cars, opinions about cars, decisions about cars. My family does not just buy cars — we live with them, argue about them, love them, and talk about them at dinner.
Motor Mogul is the natural expression of everything I have absorbed about cars over 23 years of living in a family that genuinely loves them.
What Motor Mogul Means to Me Today
When I started Motor Mogul I told my parents I was trying something new. They were supportive in the way parents are supportive when they are not entirely sure what their child is doing but trust them enough to let them try. That is enough. That support — quiet, steady, unconditional — means everything.
My girlfriend knows this website better than anyone outside my own head. She has watched me write through the night. She has listened to me explain the difference between a mild hybrid and a strong hybrid at midnight. She has been the first person I told when something went well and the first person I vented to when something did not.
Today Motor Mogul means more to me than passive income. It means identity. It means purpose. It means the answer to the question — what are you doing with your life — is something I am genuinely proud of.
I want Motor Mogul to become a brand. Not just a blog. Not just a website with AdSense ads. A brand that Indian car buyers trust. A brand that people think of when they want an honest, real, no-nonsense opinion about a car from someone who actually loves cars — not someone who was assigned to cover the automotive beat.
I want to buy my Honda City 2026 with money earned from this website. I want to use this website to do things for every person in my family and for my girlfriend. I want Motor Mogul to be the proof that passion — when combined with consistency and hard work — builds something real.
